Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D., Calif.) laid out the conditions of her proposed assault weapons ban Thursday, saying it would prohibit 158 specifically named military-style firearms.
The purpose is to dry up the supply of these weapons over time, Feinstein said. Therefore, there is no sunset on this bill.
Feinstein said the bill prohibits the sale, transfer, manufacture and importation of assault weapons and large capacity ammunition feeding devices that can accept more than ten rounds, but said it would not affect hunting or sporting firearms.
Instead, the bill protects hunters and sportsmen by protecting 2,200 specifically-named weapons used for hunting or sporting purposes, she said. They are by make and model exempted from the legislation
Finally, the bill subjects existing or grandfathered weapons to a background check in the event the weapon is sold or transferred
We have tried to recognize legal hunting rights. We have tried to recognize legal defense rights. We have tried to recognize the right of a citizen to legally possess a weapon. No weapon is taken from anyone.

They love to use soft spoken grandmother types to soft sell the destruction of our Constitution.
This NAZI bitch and her Husband have strong finacial ties to the PRC and the military leaders there.
She has recieved campaign cash and her husband has benifited financially with her support for commerce from China. Specificly COSCO who was granted waivers to import 100,000 SKS rifles in 94. It was shut down when it was discovered that they were smuggling other weapons also.
It's going to be a rough ride.
A rough ride indeed. As they said in Poland 30 years ago, “Solidarity (I can’t remember the word in Polish)! We’ll have to stand together, not that this 70 year old disabled dude will be able to inflict a lot of damage on the enemy.
When a leftist tries to tie automobile registration to firearms registration, the only proper reply is:
The reason for registering automobiles is to collect taxes. To the best of my knowledge, nobody in government is calling for the confiscation of automobiles. However, disarming the public by any means necessary, including spreading lies (see Josh Sugarman’s “assault weapons” quote) IS the express future that some in government dream of. The only reason for a firearms registry is to allow the government to seize those firearms. It’s happened in other countries. It’s happened in the USA (During Hurricane Katrina in NOLA). If there’s a registry, it WILL happen across the USA.
The federal government, especially THE CURRENT REGIME has shown calous disregard for the law and human life, as seen by the 400+ bodies of Mexican civilians, murdered by some 2000 firearms ILLEGALLY SMUGGLED ACROSS INTERNATIONAL BORDERS TO DRUG CARTELS BY THE OBAMA REGIME!!! At least 2 US federal agents have also been murdered using those same guns.
The federal government, and most governments throughout history, can NOT be trusted to “protect” an unarmed population. Certainly NOT the current US federal government

By "drying up the supply," they mean only to law abiding civilians. Police, military, and criminals will continue to get their firearms.
Gun control really has nothing to do with guns. Instead, guns are used as a tool (or more specifically, the lack of guns or other means of protection) to ensure total control of every aspect in the lives of the population. The idea is to make the population so completely dependent on the government, that they become unable to do anything other than feed the insatiable beast that the government will become. Eventually, the police will be incorporated into the military, and the government will split up the US between criminal gangs and the government, though at that point, the government is just the #1 criminal gang.

I will not comply.
If you really want to reduce criminal behavior, begin by enforcing the Constitution and the original Bill of Rights.
I threaten no honest person with my weapons, and I never will. My life and my property belong to me. In a free country, government is the servant of the people, not their master.
Unless we return to our foundational principles and soon, we will need to learn all of the hard lessons absorbed by our forebears, once again.
Modern liberals have convinced themselves that government is the price we pay for civilized society, and thus agitate for ever more government in pursuit of the perfection of society. They are wrong: a truly civilized society requires as little government as possible consistent with public order, as the result of effective self-governance and a decent respect for the rights of others.
Life and liberty are the birthright of all people, and can only be guaranteed by a government of limited and defined power that seeks to equalize opportunity and not outcome. No civilization has ever truly thrived when ruled by force, whether by an all-knowing elite or by a mob.
My guns serve to protect me against either, or both.
Of course, d’oh! Let’s hope it doesn’t come to that.
