I remember a cousin (from the ‘suburbs’) whining about hearing gunfire (hunting season) while attending a family function north of Scranton...my grandmother looked at him and deadpanned “It’s Pennsylvania.”
I remember a few years back when I was working in Coudersport. I was at the local Sheetz when a woman came in visibly upset. She hit a deer on Route 6. The usual questions followed, "are you alright? how bad is the damage to the car? etc." She barely clipped the deer with her car. Didn't kill the deer, only injured it and it was on the side of the road when she last saw it.
Then she was asked, "did you put it out of its misery?" The answer was, "No". So we asked her where the deer was so we could put it down. Just about everyone at Sheetz had some kind of gun in their car or was carrying.
She started crying and didn't want to tell us where the deer was. You could tell by her accent that she was from NYC.
F'n, stupid liberal.
