VP Biden says he heard Nickel Mines shooting gunshots

It's no secret that Vice President Joe Biden has made more than a few gaffes during his political career.

His latest: a hard-to-prove comment about a brush with the 2006 school shooting at Nickel Mines.

Speaking last week to the U.S. Conference of Mayors in Washington, D.C., Biden made the surprising revelation that he was golfing within earshot of the one-room schoolhouse when a troubled truck driver shot 10 Amish girls, killing five and wounding five.

Stand up Chuck Biden sees little but the voices always talk to him.

Actually, it was his neighbor’s dog telling him what to do for the day.

The sad reality is that the Vice President of the United States is a chronic, unrepentant liar. There’s no polite way of saying it. The media pass it off as a “gaffe” or “Joe being Joe”, but it is intentional on Biden’s part and it is insidious. it is also long-standing. Here’s a reminder from the 1988 campaign when the Dukakis campaign torpedoed Biden:

“Democratic presidential candidate Joseph R. Biden Jr., a U.S. senator from Delaware, was driven from the nomination battle after delivering, without attribution, passages from a speech by British Labor party leader Neil Kinnock. A barrage of subsidiary revelations by the press also contributed to Biden’s withdrawal: a serious plagiarism incident involving Biden during his law school years; the senator’s boastful exaggerations of his academic record at a New Hampshire campaign event; and the discovery of other quotations in Biden’s speeches pilfered from past Democratic politicians.

The controversy became two frenzies in one when it was disclosed that the campaign of Massachusetts Gov. Michael S. Dukakis had earlier secretly distributed to several news media outlets an “attack video” juxtaposing the Biden and Kinnock speeches and revealing Biden’s word theft”

I heard the gunshots at Ford’s Theater.

I thought I saw you there, but I wasn't certain so I didn't say hello.

My apologies.

If you’re more than a few hundred yards away, you’re unlikely to hear gunshots inside a building.

Hear rifle fire almost every day. During the 4th of July, watched over a dozen private fireworks shows from my door. And they were pretty good ones. But hey, this is Texas.

Other than the shooting, how’d you like the play?

Yeah Gunfire is pretty much part of the everyday background noise in rural Michigan as well.

And we sure do not want the Michigan deer hunters mistaking gun grabbers for deer. But then again, what difference would it make ?

I saw the Titanic sink but something always told me never to talk about it to all but the closest people.

Then one day James Cameron arrived at my doorstep saying he had “a lead”.

I told him to get off my lawn...
