A while ago I saw a documentary which followed a platoon of male and female recruits through Marine recruit training. The narrator claimed that they were undergoing *identical* training...the women didn't have it easier in any way. After one particularly tough day of training several of the male recruits were filmed and interviewed. They all appeared, and sounded,tired...sore...and even dispirited. When filmed and interviewed after having experienced the same training exercise the women were weeping like little girls.
Women in combat? Yikes!

Panetta was watching too many silly hollywood movies where a 100 lb female takes out a platoon of hulks, Godzilla, and a plethora of zombies breathing fire.

Remembering my time in Air Force boot camp. The year was 1979. Was during a big push to get women in the service. After a few days we were grumbling about wanting more PT just to kill the dead time. We were bored. Our TI said they couldn't have us do more as we had to stay at the same level as the female flights. He even told us that we were being slowed down on purpose in the name of gender equality. I think they thought long and hard for a solution to the problem and came up with one. Instructors were not allowed to comment about that anymore. Problem solved.
