It might be because it’s too easy to ridicule the word “choice,” since “choice” might not be allowed by the “progressives” for your child’s school or your union membership. When these comparisons are made, the idea of “choice” is exposed as a mask for prenatal homicide, as a friend of mine calls it.

The Court ruled in Roe v Wade that abortion must be permitted for any reason a woman chooses until the child becomes viable; after viability, an abortion must still be permitted if an abortion doctor deems the abortion necessary to protect a womans health, defined by the Court in another ruling issued the same day as all factors physical, emotional, psychological, familial, and the womans age relevant to the well-being of the patient. Of course, the USSC ruled that abortion was legal in the ninth month----that women could abort whenever they wanted. To say otherwise, the Supremes would have had to acknowledge the unborn was a living human being.
