Running a spy agency does involve some secrecy. But that secrecy has been used to cover up wrongdoing too. One example is the Soldiers and other people unwittingly given LSD to study it’s effects.
Hiding the U2 but letting people believe in UFOs, fine, funny.
Smuggling dope into Mena airport with the help of Governor Bill Clinton, evil.
Spying on foreigners, good.
Intercepting all domestic electronic texts, emails and phone calls, evil.
In Desert Storm planting false news stories on invasion day that US Paratroops were landing near Kuwait City, helpful.
Leaking fake Syrian gas attack preparation stories to get us into the war there,,evil.
CIA standing by Wilsons fake report BAD.
CIA leaking designed to embarrass Bush,,bad.
Some secrecy is needed. But such secrecy demands -extremely- high ethics that are not demonstrated by our government or intelligence community.
There is only one thing I do not understand about Bengazi.
I understand the NYT.
I understand the CIA methods.
I understand the Chris Matthews and the obumbler inner circle.
What I do not understand is that there are very powerful repubs and very powerful conservatives (note that they are not always the one and the same) who are Washington insiders.
They know all of this and a hell of a lot more, but yet they say nothing and do nothing.
If this is not impeachable, it certainly is destructive to make it known that obumbler and his inner circle are at the very least Muslim sympathizers and at worst jihadists.
Their Mideast policies will ensure the Caliphate.
If the repub party had any fight in them at all, they would be talking about this on every possible occasion rather than hiding under the bed.
Look at the coverage of this event compared to the coverage given Iran Contra.
That almost cost Caspar Weinberger his head. Here everyone will walk...on a red carpet with a brass band.
