A lawmaker from the blatantly anti-Semitic Hungarian Jobbik Party, who recently called for a list to be compiled of Jews who he alleges pose a “security risk”, is planning to embark on a lecture tour regarding the “Zionist threat.”
Hungarian lawmaker Marton Gyongyosi will tour nationwide to give lectures “about attacks on Jobbik and himself and the party’s foreign policy, with focus on its strong and true criticism of Israel,” the Jobbik party said in a statement released Friday.
“Jobbik has been exposed to unprecedented attacks in Hungary and abroad … Relying on its huge lobbying and blackmailing potential, Zionism has deployed all its strength to launch a global campaign to discredit Jobbik,” the statement said.

It’s amazing that the EU media smears Geert Wilders as some kind of fascist, all the while the real blackshirts are rising in Hungary. Then again, Jobbik are friendly with Turkey, who have a love affair with the totalitarian bureaucrats in Brussels. Everything is linked.

America was blessed with Wm. F. Buckley Jr., George Will, et al., who redefined conservatism as a coherent intellectual world view. Had Europe had anything similar?

Of course, I'm a crude Theonomic positivist myself rather than a follower of any intellectual/philosophical school. I think that's the correct position (else I wouldn't hold it), but it's much too crude for most people.
The populist European right is just as crude, only it is dedicated (ultimately) to traditional local outlooks, which is why it is so unremittingly anti-Jewish. As representatives of the Objective G-d Who created the universe, they advocates of local idols regard Jews as the ultimate iconoclasts. And destroying false "gxds" is the Jewish mission. Unfortunately, liberal Jews have lumped HaShem in there with the idols.
I like Herman Wouk’s view of provincial European anti-Semitism. They still have a very pagan mind-set, but worship a Jewish carpenter, with a very Jewish mind-set. Inevitably, they find it frustrating, and take out their frustration on Jesus’ co-religionists (this from Winds of War). American Christians don’t seem to have this problem, or at least not quite so bad, since they’re geographically removed from the stonehenges and sacred groves that keep feeding the paganism. I've spent some thirty years trying to figure all this stuff out. Until I joined the John Birch Society I had never even suspected that Zionism was considered "left wing" by anyone on either side of the spectrum. The Communists in their short wave broadcasts made no distinction whatsoever between Israel and Rhodesia or South Africa (or Spain or Portugal). The only thing that made less sense than the Right's opposition to Israel was the American Left's support of it (especially considering the fact that the Left everywhere else opposed it). Even the American Hard Left supported Israel until fairly recently . . . and I doubt it would have done so without orders or at least permission from Arabist Moscow.
I have finally come to the conclusion that chrstianity is not so much a universal religion as a local one. J*sus is always a countryman and a blood relative. That's why every historically chrstian country seems to think it's Israel. So European chrstians worship a Jewish carpenter only in theory. In fact they worship a "kinsman-redeemer."
Consider that chrstian churches, chrstian holidays, and even chrstian rituals are often appropriated directly from the previously existing paganism. They may sing hymns about Bethlehem but their J*sus and their "gxd" and "saints" inhabits the vales and the hills and the rocks and the rills of their "sacred motherlands." The virgin is the queen of Poland. Ireland is the island of saints and scholars. Armenia is the first chrstian nation. And Ethiopia has the Ark of the Covenant. Notice a pattern here?
Along with the anti-Semitism of the "new testament" text, this localized appropriation of Bechirat Yisra'el is probably one of the main reasons for traditional chrstian anti-Semitism. American chrstianity is Biblical, literal, and restorationist, so when it reads "Jerusalem" it interprets it as "Jerusalem" and not an allegory for the local capital of the Sacred Motherland. "Israel" means Israel and not something else. Hence the predominance of Hebrew names and hostility to pagan admixtures in early American Puritanism.
This still leaves one more reason for chrstian anti-Semitism, however, and one that is a danger to Jews even in America. The authentic Jewish mission of destroying local idols and local religions in the name of the Objective Truth of HaShem has been twisted in the past two centuries to mean the destruction of all supernatural religious concepts in the name of a universal enlightenment rationalism. Even the Judaeophilic worldview of Biblicist America does not escape the hostility and iconoclasm of this twisted version of the Jewish mission. How long have "tiqqun `olam" and "Jewish values" meant abortion and "gay rights?" Not very long (as recently as the Fifties Reform Judaism was adamantly opposed to homosexuality). Yet some Orwellian thought process has turned these destructive impulses into the authentic four millennium old "Jewish heritage." And unfortunately, since American chrstians are more Biblically and objectively oriented than their European "co-religionists," they are more apt to get the idea that the Jews are the enemies, not of the local "gxds," but of G-d A-mighty. That is a very bad thing.
