KALAMAZOO, MI -- What a difference four years make.
In 2009, a reported 2,500 people crowded into Miller Auditorium to watch history being made as Barack Obama was sworn in as the first African-American president of the United States.
On Monday, the auditorium looked very different. Just 30 people braved the blowing snow and unplowed roads to watch the inauguration ceremonies on a giant screen.

obama fail my ass. The sob is in the White House for at least 4 more years.
Well, that’s 30 homeless people who had a warm place to stay for a few hours.
Bathhouse Barry is a lame duck. The Red State Rat senators up for reelection in 2014 are already starting to distance themselves from him.
Fail? He has won the world’s most powerful position twice, for a total of eight years. Knowing the Democrats, they’ll try to chsnge the constitution to give him a third and fourth term. How many people show up to see him in Michigan has little to do with that. You won’t recognize this country by 2017.
we’ll see.
Starting in October, Obama is going to be running millions of dollars in advertising threatening people and telling them that are mandated to buy Obamacare by January 1st or pay a fine to the IRS. A lot of Hussein supporters are going to be mad that Obamacare won’t be free and that they are going to be forced to buy insurance by January. 2013 is going to be a nightmare for the RATS in the senate and house thanks to Obamacare.
Who are you, Dick Morris?
Sounds something along the line of, “Obama/Biden having trouble on the campaign trail filling venues to their capacity “. (We know how that worked out)
Is there any place on the site to leave a comment? I couldn’t find one....
"These previews suck".
Yeah, that was kinda low, wasn’t it? I apologize for that. :(
My jaw still hurts after that one!
Just don’t throw me into that briar patch!!!
I'm 81 and I don't recognize it now. By the time 2017 gets here America will be way down the list as a third world Country with hundreds of millions that are so stupid they would have a hard time finding a pot to pis@ in.
I stopped reading these stories about how unenthusiastic people are about Obama after the election. There were dozens if not hundreds of stories about how Obama rallies were not well attended and how the momentum was with Romney. Then Obama crushed Romney in the election. These types of stories are wishful thinking at best and cause us to fool ourselves. As you say, the bottom line is he won. The fact that there are less people in his swearing-in is cold comfort.
I wish I could believe that he was a lame duck.
My fear is that the Pubbies are going to fumble this situation so badly they will lose the House in 2014.
Then the entire Progressive Agenda will be put on a rocket sled.
The only enthusiasm for Obama this election was on election day, when it was huge.
And that was only in states with no photo ID requirement.
