(Philadelphia) -- Hunting and fishing retailer Cabela's Inc. says it won't participate in what has been billed as Pennsylvania's largest outdoor sports show next month following the decision to ban display and sale of assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition magazines.

I stand corrected. It all sort of runs together now.
We have Cabela’s in Montana but locals will tell you that they (Cabela’s) are in the practice of buying up private ranches, including those that have been open to public hunting, and setting them up as high-dollar guided hunt preserves.
I’ve heard it from a couple merchants and guides and one guy lived up where, he claimed, Cabela’s had closed off a big private ranch along the Milk River.
Can’t say if it’s for sure but it bugged me.
Have to say I admire their stance in this situation tho.
Well, yes it does. Didn't mean to be as snarky as it certainly sounded...
“Eh, we decided it’s going to be a one-day show instead of five like you were told. You guys’ll get screwed, but we’ll save a bundle on electricity!”
Still an injustice if they have to pay money for a product whose description changed after purchase and if those crooked promoters get paid for something they unilaterally decided not to deliver. I'm sure they'll get theirs in the end. Course they probably like that.
“Good for Cabela’s.”
I have been a Cabela’s fan/customer for many years. I remember when they had only one store, in Sydney, Nebraska. I was there when they opened their second store in Kearney, Nebraska in 1987. I order from them about once a month, whatever I need. No store in Ohio yet, but one is scheduled to open in Columbus this spring. I am sending them an email tonight thanking them for their decision.
Hey, Grammie, I’m spending my gift cards at Cabela’s and Bass Pro both next weekend.
Whaddya want?
REALLY??? Are you KIDDING? *plop*
FRmail coming! :) :)
I’d like to issue A Formal Complaint!
It didn’t get COLD enough up here for me ... !!!!!
I may have to stop at the Cabela’s 45 minutes south of here on my way back to my during the week residence from a 4 day weekend.
Drove right past it last night returning home from a party of sorts. :)
My niece works in their call center up in Nebraska, as does her former roommate, and the daughter of a classmate of mine.
We have Bass Pro
Can’t imagine them rolling over either
Even better, Cabela's is on my list of places to spend money today. While I am there, I will personally pass on my congratulations and thanks in addition to leaving the money.
They can't buy what is not for sale. Look at the sellers, not the buyers.
Understatement of the Month©
Never saw stripper clips at Cabelas. One of many things difficult to find in stock anywhere.
“Sorry ... the good guns have to go to the store in Hamburg, PA. I have dibs.”
I was there Saturday taking a class from a company called, “Legal Heat”. Getting my CCP for Utah, which covers a ton of states. I’m looking for a 20 gauge shotgun that’s easy for a woman to shoot. I have dibs after you. :)
BTTT
Thank you for the list and the links, FRiend.
May God give us strength.
