The annual Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show in Harrisburg is banning assault weapons this year.
Reed Exhibitions puts on the annual event and made the decision not to include tactical rifles less than a month before the show, much to the chagrin of those who plan to attend.
I think a man ought to be able to have what he wants. If he want an assault rifle for some reason, to hunt with or just target shoot or whatever, I think he should have it without a whole lot of hassle, said Dennis Hackler, a gun owner.
Hackler said heading to the show every year is a tradition, but the ban may change that.

Do NOT go to this show. Instead, give your business to businesses who are Pro-2A like Cabela's.
Stay away and make it a flop.
I’m sure turnout will skyrocket with liberal treehuggers clogging the entrances. LOL
Excellent news on Cabelas. I will not be going. Today I went to Trops and spend some money. Trops Gun Shop was one of the first to pull out.
Yep. Trops was one of the first to pull out. The ones who stand for the 2A will forever get my money, and the ones who do not will forever not get my money.
Support of the 2A is binary; you either support it or you don’t. No middle ground.
"Due to recent changes made by Reed Exhibitions regarding the Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show, Cabelas will no longer sponsor this years event. After careful consideration regarding Cabelas business practices, and the feelings of our customers, Cabelas will, unfortunately, not have a presence at the Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show."
This is going to hurt Reed badly in south central PA.
I will now drive the extra 30 miles to buy ALL of my sporting goods at Cabelas!!!!
I’ve been going to Harrison since 1989. Now I’m done. They’ve lost me with this display of spineless capitulation. F them.

Reed Exhibition is part of Reed Elsevier which is a huge British/Dutch based company (Lexis Nexis). They will not be going out of business any time soon. Years ago they pulled out of military shows as well.
We're approaching the time to brandish.
Caving in accomplishes no useful purpose, unless one's purpose is to further aggrandize the potentate.
Some will go to show support for gun rights and local to area. That’s fine .
If can organize a protest to stay away
That would be better. Sends message to
participants that surrender is not the
winning move.
Cabelas no Dick’s. Show support by ordering online from them when the offer products your
considering purchasing .
I’ve been looking for a good thread to post this.
I saw, with my own eyes, a guy but a DPMS AR-15 at Walmart today. I saw him looking at it and I didn’t look close. I thought he was handling a Mossbert 715 because I bought one at the same Walmart a couple of weeks ago. I asked him what he thought of the Mossberg. He said that’s not a Mossberg that’s a DPMS. I looked again and it was. He got it for $599.00. He said he walked up to the counter and asked if they had any AR 15s and the guy said “yeah, we’ve got one in back”. I couldn’t believe it, and wouldn’t have if I hadn’t seen it myself. It just occurred to me I should have hung around to make sure he got approved on the background check.

If true, that would be hypocrisy.
Was at the show at Mills Mall in Tarentum today.
No shortage of ARs, NO shortage of magazines. No shortage of .223.
Only thing that seemed to be lacking was the crowds ability to pay the outrageous prices.
But if you had the bux, they had the goods. (Damn big crowd too)
Drove past the Jackson Tn fairgrounds about 1:30 this afternoon. Wondered what was going on, then remembered it is gun show weekend.
Didn’t go in. Couldn’t if I wanted to. Parking lot full and cars parked along entrance road. Saw line snaking 2 blocks long outside entrance.
Never seen it so packed for gun show before.
