I don’t get it. Their children and grandchildren have to grow up in the same country as ours. What kind of future do they really see with this cretin leading the country? I know, I know, everyone says that they’re the elites but in the end they still live here and will be controlled by the same laws he’s imposing on us.

How many of these people are childless by choice? They don't have to worry much about the future since no one they know will live in it. For the same reason, they don't care about the rest of the country since no one they know lives there.
