It’s been quite a while since I got familiarization with an M-16. I seem to remember that once one magazine was emptied it took about a second to release the empty magazine and about two more seconds to slap in a loaded mag. Am I wrong?
You are correct.
I just get irritated when these “experts” use completely incorrect terms to describe what they think they’re banning.
Some ammo comes on “stripper clips”, which facilitate the rapid insertion of that ammo into a magazine. The magazine is then inserted into the magazine well of a rifle.
Clips and magazines are not the same thing, but are too often interchanged by the “journalists”, and now some political LEO’s, as well.
