EMERYVILLE, Calif. (KGO) -- People are used to seeing TSA inspectors at airports but on Wednesday, a specialized team made their presence known at the Amtrak station in Emeryville. Train stations are difficult to secure because they're so wide open but on Wednesday, the TSA showed up unannounced to let the public, especially potential troublemakers, know that they are keeping an eye on the rails.
Amtrak passenger Vera Molina said she noticed all the black-clad TSA inspectors right away and it's a presence she appreciates. Asked if she would like to see them more often she said, "I would, can't hurt, just in case you never know." As part of their nationwide "Viper Team" effort, the Transportation Safety Administration put about a dozen agents at the station to see and be seen, although some of the inspectors also work undercover.
"The visible deterrent is making a presence known at the station, getting on the train, talking to passengers, lettings the bad guys know that we're here, and letting the passengers know that we're here

Emeryville: Once the home of Trader Vic’s...
Still a great way to see the country ... especially portions of the trip that pass thru the Sierra or Rocky Mountains.
Right.
I remember B0 gushing about high speed rail: “...and, no pat-downs!”
I said “Just wait.”
Oh dear Lord.
I take commuter trains to work every day, and I always dread the day when I’ll get to my station and see these blue-shirted, barely high-school educated thugs with their stupid VIPER station setup, barking orders to the travelers just trying to get to their destinations.
>> Youre an idiot.
On a GOOD day. :-)
>> You have no idea how this much this article disturbs me.
Me too.
Thankfully I don’t travel every week like I used to. Some of it I miss, but not the TSA.
Remember:
When seconds count, help is just minutes away.
I guess the TSA was worried someone might commandeer the train and crash it into a tall building.
Molina was one of two passengers, from what the vid clip showed. More TSA agents than passengers! Our tax dollars being well spent.
I especially like the reporter’s comment: “we covered their faces (the agents) because some of them work undercover.”
Begs the question, what sort of undercover work is the TSA involved in, where their faces must be kept from being identified by the general population?
This thought just crossed my mind: what percentage of TSA personnel are black (Holder’s People)?
Racist? Sure, but you know obama needs reliable goons to do the dark lord’s work.
At Denver airport many were Somali
LOL
I already heard how much I don’t know twice this morning.
Just dang! I only work for her M-F. Guess I’m working overtime this weekend....
