Also, IMHO they [Southern states] have better weather. I don't know about that. I've lived in Texas for most of my life and love the weather over here.

But I lived in Alabama for five years -- and I've got to tell you, I've also lived in Michigan and seen 30 below, yet I've never been so cold as I've been in Alabama at 40 degrees.

Working on an orchard floor in the damp chill was, literally, bone-chilling -- even with quilted overalls. It would take at least an hour back home, in front of the fireplace, to "warm your innards".

And a 95 degree day at 80% humidity might be even worse.

Give me "high and dry" any day...

I was in the Central High Lands in 1966. I froze mt A$$ off during the Winter Monsoon. Temperature around 40 Degrees.

I live in New England, NH, and it gets real cold up here and it never bothered me. Must be the hot summers.
