Unfortunately our great state has a very dark history when it comes to gun control, and much of it started thanks to Public Act 372 of 1927 – a law designed primarily to keep pistols out of the hands of Detroit’s African American population thereby denying them the right to self defense after a Dr. by the name of Ossian Sweet moved his family to a predominantly white neighborhood and was forced to use firearms to protect his home and family.
