You've nothing to base that on. It was the middle of the night and they had clearly opened his trunk during the day. That clearly has the look of multiple LEOs arming themselves—not some detectives removing evidence.

LEOs keep loaded weapons in the trunk??? I really don't know, maybe they do...And if they do, why unload when they are arming themselves???

And why would they be arming themselves the night after the shooting???

I’d think that’d be a better way to transport loaded rifles. And I’d think all kinds of crime scene and fear-of-copycat and other reasons would have had them keeping armed watch into the night.
