In press conferences that have been held since 12/14, the Connecticut State Police have identified all of the weapons seized from the crime scene at Sandy Hook Elementary School.
"To eliminate any confusion or misinformation, we will again describe and identify the weapons seized at the school crime scene," Connecticut State Police Spokesman Lt J. Paul Vance said Friday, January 18, via a press release.
Seized inside the school were the following: a Bushmaster .223 caliber-- model XM15-E2S rifle with high capacity 30 round clips; a Glock 10 mm handgun; and a Sig-Sauer P226 9mm handgun.
Seized from the suspects car in parking lot was a Izhmash Canta-12 12 gauge Shotgun.
The case remains under investigation.

From this description, using equivalent of a mag clamp, the type of particular weapons, appears the nutjob studied or was trained, maybe attending a tactical shooting seminar with mom or dad. The SIG Sauer P226 is one of the best handguns in the world, the Glock 20 also particular because harder to find ammo and more of a reloading piece for proper high powered loads. The shotty and AR more combat oriented. So someone in the family new their weapons. Should have kept Paxil boy or whatever the hell he was on away from them and sharp objects. His mental health needs to be investigated.
At least 2 long guns (rifles) were in the car.
The shotgun was clearly shown in helicopter footage.
Another long gun is also shown being removed and carried away in helicopter footage. It is difficult to see that it was the AR but it was shorter than the shotgun and had what appeared to be front and back pistol grips.
NBC news ran an on-air report that came from ‘multiple sources’ that 4 handguns were used and the AR-15 was left in the car. To my knowledge they have never retracted or corrected that report.
Finally, personnel on site could not tell the differnce between a 9 mm and .223 wound? Amazing.
Many thanks. I had not seen or heard that mentioned anywhere.
That's not true. Only the Saiga [Canta] was found in the car and was removed along with its grey carrying case later that night. Look carefully at the videos -- it's a shotgun and its grey carrying case.

Wrong. You heard wrong. And what they said was also wrong and they admitted it in the evening broadcast and apologized for it. And since then have never repeated it.

Wrong. The ME at his press conference on December 15th said that all the wounds he had seen thus far in the autopsies he had done came from the "long weapon" -- the rifle.
"were" not "are".
That article is dated: Tue, 18 Dec 2012 17:21 CST.
We all had the same questions and more on that date but most of them have since been answered satisfactorily. However there are some people that are just never satisfied no matter what you give them.
I agree...
Most women shooters I have known, both experienced and new to the culture, have shot both the .40, and the bug daddy of that one, the 10mm...
Both give a pretty good bark, and keeping them down on target takes a lot of tolerance and practice...
My wife never liked the .40, so when she wanted to shoot something a littl ediffferent than the 9mm, she went and shot my .45, and she loved it!!!
So, in conclusion, it is apparent that the experience helped me discover that we (she) had to get a new aquisition in another Springfield 1911, money well spent a few years ago if you ask me...And the rest is history...
What I meant by my last post, was that since ALL these weapons apparently were the shooters Mom’s...Seems to me she might not have been the one choosing this particular pistol...If she did, she is sounding more and more like someone who really did know her way around a firearm(s)...
You sir are incorrect, the reporter stated that Federal and State Officials informed them, not “other sources”.
I looked at the video several times and the entire length of the casing was reflective when it was cleared and it certainly did not appear to be the diameter of a 12 ga. The Saiga comes in many flavors including .223. All of them are very similar in construction so mistaking one for the other is very easy, especially as grainy as that video is.
There is just so much misinformation coming out (on purpose) and as the administration appears to be losing the argument with the general population, the need to “evolve” the story to support their overall goals is apparent.
The only thing that NBC News was “wrong” about is that someone apparently told the truth and got their ass handed to them by someone they feared more than the truth.
I heard wrong. And what they said was wrong...??????
So which is it? Did they say something I did not hear correctly or did they provide inaccurate information from multiple sources and then later retracted it. The broadcast is easy find, the retraction or correction - not so much.
This is MSM stuff from a day after the incident. Not the fog of reporting during the real time reporting.
And why is a person committing a Class D Felon according to Connecticut laws allowed to go free without being investigated.
“A man with a gun who was spotted in the woods near the school on the day of the incident was an off-duty tactical squad police officer from another town, according to the source.”
So an ARMED person was on the grounds before the shooting started???
This person was described as a father of a student, and other things. But now the closest MSM source - the local paper - confirms the presence of a gunman in the woods? But it is not the subject of any other reporting? Amazing.
BTW, before arguing he was a police officer and not a gunman. My definition of a gun man is an unauthorized person with a gun on the property of a mass shooting. That is called a gunman. And he was committing a Class D felony:
http://www.cga.ct.gov/current/pub/chap952.htm#Sec53a-217b.htm
Sec. 53a-217b. Possession of a weapon on school grounds: Class D felony. (a) A person is guilty of possession of a weapon on school grounds when, knowing that such person is not licensed or privileged to do so, such person possesses a firearm or deadly weapon, as defined in section 53a-3, (1) in or on the real property comprising a public or private elementary or secondary school, or (2) at a school-sponsored activity as defined in subsection (h) of section 10-233a.
There are explicit exceptions and most require school administration approval - even for a police officer.
“(c) Possession of a weapon on school grounds is a class D felony.”
So no tin foil hat required for these reports - right from the MSM. 4 Handguns, no long rifle used and a gunmen on the gounds other than Adam Lanza.
No corrections or retractions.
FWIW, the CT medical examiner had previously said all the shooter’s victims were killed with the .223.
I don’t believe that was the trunk of the shooter’s car. They emptied his trunk out during the day. That appears to be a nighttime shot of LEO’s arming themselves from an official SUV.
“— it’s a shotgun and its grey carrying case.”
This is the first of a grey carrying case I have heard about. Is that from an official report?
Or is someone really trying to trial balloon this line of hole plugging.
Within hours of that erroneous report those "state sources", aka the state police held a press conference with the ME telling the world, in so many words, that Pete Williams was wrong.
Where in that article does it say anything about it being "before the shooting started". He may have just responded to the police dispatch that went out over the aire and responded according to procedure and found later on that AM in the woods.
I was thinking the same thing, but I think the 15 round clip is a product of confusion. The MSM heard “30 round” and “2 clips taped together” and jumped to an uneducated conclusion. I dont believe a 15 round mag protrudes out of the reciever far enough to conveniently tape to anouther mag. Besides, why would someone with access to a fairly large collection of firearms get the 15 round mags?
There are two videos from different views of them accessing the trunk. The one shows what appears to be a Saiga with shells being ejected. The other shows a person removing what appears to be the shotgun from the trunk and another reaches in and removes what appears to be its carry case or cover.
Gallows humor. Me and several friends had to step outside to control laughter at my best friends funeral. I joked with a family member who lost his 2 yr old son that weekend. The body looks for a reason to laugh when you are down enough.
