Back in my jr high/high school southern rock and Dukes of Hazzard loving days I had a confederate flag. And I cast no aspersions on someone who still has one.
At this point, however, I feel like the KKK and Neo Nazis have co-opted the flag to the point where I wouldn’t be comfortable having or displaying one .
To me (and this is my opinion only) it’s a little like the Roman salute, and how now its seen as “Heil Hitler” and not a legitimate gesture.
The KKK also uses the Bible.

The TEA Party (Revolutionary War) flag is a good substitute; doesn’t have the same baggage (yet), though it was used at a time where most, if not all, of the states had legalized slavery.
