Lincoln’s suspension of habeas corpus lasted a lot less time than this Patriot Act (and Lincoln’s suspension was grounded in specific Constitutional language).
And we have ended the war on Iraq, and are ending the war on Afghanistan. Only the war against Americans will remain.
