Looks like most of these problems would disappear if we could re-educate people that “retirement” is an old fashioned concept, like the Constitution or “Rule of Law”. Work ‘till you die. It’s Patriotic! Like paying taxes!
I just want to point out that you can die within 8 hours in Death Valley, apparently without suffering to much. You won’t really even notice the heat, because there is often a nice breeze blowing through there.
What is so surprising about this data. The country celebrates debt and interest payments and the baby boom has no concept of hard times.

Sadly Reagan joined in on this scam but at the time 30 years ago it looked workable.
How did the media succeed in turning a continuous, permanent, uninterrupted program from the 1930s, into a “boomer” program.
One would think that all the old people used to do was defeat Nazis, and that the boomers created SS when they were children and teenagers in the 1960s, and starting the Vietnam war.
One of the best moves I ever made was joining the Air National Guard when my active duty time was up. An extra $2000 a month and full use of any military base amenity for life. We buy most of our food at the commissary at a 40 percent savings over the civilian economy. And I can fly space A for nothing. Yeah, best move I ever made.
