An American from Texas remains missing after an Algerian military raid on an Al Qaeda-linked group reportedly ended a hostage standoff at a remote gas plant in the Saharan Desert.
Two Americans escaped unharmed Thursday from the hostage standoff, a senior U.S. defense officials told Fox News, and five other Americans who had been at the vast Ain Amenas complex were able to avoid being taken captive when the terrorists first attacked early Wednesday.
The Associated Press reports at least six people, and perhaps many more, were killed -- Britons, Filipinos and Algerians -- in the Algerians special forces' rescue mission. Dozens more remained unaccounted for, including Britons, French, Norwegians, Romanians, Malaysians, Japanese, Algerians, at least one American and the fighters themselves.

7 of the eight known Americans are safe.
One unaccounted for....much better than I would have expected.

Has Obama even said anything about this? I heard David Cameron on the radio news talking about it.

Getting so that any American that leaves the country is in danger. Not that leaving the country will keep any American safe with Obama in charge.

I’ve not heard him say a word. Imagine how the press would take this if W. Bush was President?

Obammy and the left are still trying to figure out how to blame all of this on Bush, the rich and the Tea Party.

That’s what they say. Of course, they don’t want another murder on their hands now.

These worker were paid big, big salaries to be on that job site. A friend was offered $250,000 a year for an engineering job in a dangerous country.
He said there were two job openings because one guy had gotten killed and his buddy on the job quit after that. My friend did not take the job.

RE: "7 of the eight known Americans are safe. One unaccounted for....much better than I would have expected."
I feel bad for all those that now have died and now leave their loved ones and have to go through the terrible lose of losing them.
Through the east coast evening, I have been hitting on many news sites to see what new has been discovered. For the most part Fox has done as well at updating as others.
Most likely over the next few days we shall see some accurate reporting as to what actually took place at that BP gas/oil field.
As well as what the French will do, to shore up things they find are a real necessity in this region.
As far as I am concerned, this current administration has blood on their hands in so many cases.
If the colonel where still alive reciting his little green book to the Libyans and at least for the most part allowing most people to live in peace in that country short of the wild Islamic goons having their way....
This current mess would never have come to past.
Obama, Clinton, the whole massive ilk with so many individual names that could be mentioned within the executive branch and Department of State, have blood on their hands.
Tough shit for any of them that read this. Yeah. Their probably stupid enough to think they are some how clean.
Enough said Ernest. Do have a great upcoming day. Time for me to hit the rack.
