Cruz: Obama 'High on His Own Power'
The Weekly Standard ^ | 1/17/2013 | MICHAEL WARREN

Posted on 01/17/2013 5:57:24 PM PST by RoosterRedux

Republican senator Ted Cruz of Texas said Thursday that Barack Obama is "high on his own power" with regard to the president's announced efforts on gun control. Speaking on Laura Ingraham's radio talk show, Cruz, who was just elected to the Senate last November, said "this is a president who has drunk the Kool-Aid."

"He is feeling right now high on his own power, and he is pushing on every front, on guns," Cruz said. "And I think it's really sad to see the president of the United States exploiting the murder of children and using it to push his own extreme, anti-gun agenda. I think what the president is proposing and the gun control proposals that are coming from Democrats in the Senate are, number one, unconstitutional, and number two, they don't work. They're bad policy."

Cruz told Ingraham that he does not believe Obama will be successful in passing gun control legislation and that the political ramifications of pursuing such laws could be bad for Democrats.

Time to attack. Congress should start articles of impeachment. Distract and derail everything he is trying to do. Neuter him and his administration. Pick a target on his staff and pick at them until something is found to drive them from office or even into prison. Time for nice is long past. Rip his administration apart and expose them for the anti-American communists they are.

It has taken much more time than I thought possible...but American leaders are finally emerging and stepping into the power vacuum Obama created on the Right.

Cruz is a formidable opponent and Obama will soon feel the pain.

Obama smokin reefer is plenty right.

I look forward to the time when that's all he does. Well, that and watch reruns of West Wing, Cosby, and Homeland...and munch on Twinkies brought back from bankruptcy.

We have your back covered, Mr. Cruz because you are right. Obama is overstepping his power. I think he should be impeached. Don't let up nor change-word of advise: watch the party bosses from entrapping you on an issue. Hopefully, we can add more Tea Party patriots in the next election so our numbers will grow.

Time for the patriots to group together as a national party of some sort. If the GOP wants to stay in power they should join the new party, not the other way around.

The GOP have mucked things up so bad a communist was elected twice. Time for something new. Tea Party as a full fledged political party, maybe. A Conservative Party, maybe. Whatever the solution, we need to do something because what we have now will kill us as a country.

Obama is pRes_ _ent ONLY because of Mitt Romney and Rove
who had their surrogates attack Gov. Palin on the
Eve of Election 2008, and then savaged every conservative
in 2012 until Romney gave up for his partner
Soros (except for occasional defenses ... by his wife).

Cruz was a master debater at Princeton and will engage Obama in a slow motion debate before the jury of public opinion until Obama is bleeding (and beyond).

Obama is no match for Cruz.

This is Cruz's first volley against Obama in earnest...he is probing Obama's defenses.

I don't blame the party so much as those in charge of it.

It will evolve or die (and be replaced by something better).

A new leadership team is rising.

Perhaps Karl Rove should retire to a Fox News contract...oh, never mind, he already did.

I hope other leaders jump in behind Cruz to push for impeachment proceedings. If the MSM could be stripped and alienated from the Traitor in Chief it would be the beginning of his end. Cruz, being. a man of diversity, is tgevright type of per on to leas the charge because he represents almost half of the U.S. population and peopl will be more apt to listen to a Hispanic consevative rather than rich old white men that have KKK robes hanging in their closets..../s

Amen. It will be really difficult to ever trust the GOP (again). Once they explode (from the inside or outside) fully, the better off we all are going to be.

I think the MSM have been bought and paid for by the Communists (CPUSA). They have spent years and years hiring the hardcore lefties they want and need for their propaganda machine.

That said, they are losing money and viewership by the millions...and they know it.

The Communist effort will fail...communism always fails.

The question is how long will it take and how many will die in the mean time.

As Alinsky knew...the mastermind behind community organizing and communism is Lucifer. And while he is on the losing team...he isn't someone to be trifled with (you can see his power behind the otherwise incompetent Obama).

Were it not for powerful spiritual evil...Obama would still be organizing poor black folk in the Southside of Chicago...just trying to get a minority discount in their power bills.

As Sun Tzu said, know the enemy. Obama is only a soldier of the enemy (and a good one at that)...but he isn't a general...not even a private.

As Alinsky told us...our enemy is Lucifer.

Rove will try to discredit Sen. Cruz. Rove will get kicked in the a$$ and have his nose bloodied. (Sooner the better)

Dictators can get pretty high and mighty when they OWN the national “media”. Barry is in the fart sack with every one of them.

When Cruz says strong statements like this, all conservatives FReepers, blogs , twitter, etc. should immediately repeat his key phrases everywhere; call in radio, web, letters to editors, to lib networks and journalists, calls to reps just keep repeating it over and over. No diluting by shotgun approach at everything he is doing, just one thing like gun control and follow Cruz. Dems know how to do this and it works. Use strong phrases like Cruz.

I thought Romney did a fine job for the most part. But he was not a match for the Democrat ground game (i.e. busing illegal voters to precincts where no ID was needed and hacking the electoral process in swing states...and cheating anywhere and everywhere).

I have come to understand that Obama is simply a figurehead of Chicago-styled politics spread to the rest of the country.

We must take our country back, precinct by precinct, machine by machine...and if necessary, by arms.

I am not recommending violence, but I am saying that the Constitution must be defended. And the final line of defense is that of arms.

Obama believes the Constitution is flawed. Therefore, he lied when he said he would defend it.

That lie is his treason.

He should be tried...and if found guilty of treason (and he certainly is guilty of such)...sentence should be carried out as a testament to the power of the Oath of Office and Constitution he violated.

Cruz, being. a man of diversity

Depends on what you mean by diversity. He's a Cuban, a white guy whose descendants came from Spain and stopped over in Cuba for a while before coming over here. Nevertheless, if he can nail some of the "hispanic" votes, all well and good.
