JACKSON, MS (WLOX) -
President Obama will announce several proposals Wednesday on what the federal government can do to curb gun violence in the wake of the Sandy Hook school massacre. But the anticipation about the president's plan already has many gun advocates worried, including Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant.
Wednesday morning, the governor sent a letter to Lieutenant Governor Tate Reeves and House Speaker Phillip Gunn asking them to "immediately pass legislation that would make any unconstitutional order by the President illegal to enforce in Mississippi by state or local law enforcement."
Bryant said several states have introduced similar measures to counter what he called, "this overreaching and anti-constitutional violation of our rights as American citizens."
By my count, that is three states talking about limiting enforcement of Fed gun restrictions/bans: WY, TX, and now MS. Any others?

Wyoming... Texas... Mississippi... it’s unfolding just about like I thought it would.
Barky’s EOs will be met with state actions declaring them unenforceable almost immediately after they issue.
I heard Bryant’s speech on Supertalk Mississippi. Bryant is one of us. We now need to ask for Remington to relocate to Mississippi as the Winchester Ammo company has and send a bunch of non union trucks to get the arms manufacturing equipment and employees with FNY painted on the sides of the trucks. Bushmaster AR 15’s are made by the Remington Company in NY.
I just heard this on the radio news. Go Gov. Bryant! Resist! Resist! Resist the lawless fraud in the White House!
Praise God! And thank you, Governor Bryant!
That Jim Hood demonic-rat had better be on board.
Thanks for hitting the list onyx. I was just about to ping WKB and Islander7 when I saw your post.
WKB told me I could ping it from time to time. I know it’s on his page. In my excitement, I forgot to take my name off....LOL.
Praise God and Governor Bryant! Our beloved state won’t put up with the Marxist infringing on our Rights!
This has the Mississippi Libs all pissy...
Yep! Hood better know that he will be a VERY unpopular man if he supports Big O's lawless anti-gun dictates.
