CRESTWOOD, KY (WAVE) - A new Washington Post poll found 52 percent of Americans favor new gun control measures. Despite that, guns are flying off store shelves in Kentuckiana.
Owners at several gun shops tell WAVE 3 News, they've had days when their stores are packed, some even say they had lines out the door and all of those we talked to tell us, their supplies are running low.
"They've been though the roof," said Open Range Sales consultant Aaron Hatfield of gun sales and one thing is driving them, "fear," he said. "They're scared of what's going to happen and the unknown."
As the Connecticut school shootings and the shooter's AR 15 rifle fuel talk of more gun control, Open Range's Hatfield says buyers have come out of the woodwork. At first, he said sales were amazing, now he says, many dealers have little on the shelves. A section normally full of ARs and Lever Action Rifles are all gone.
Gun sellers can't replenish their stock.

Politicians claiming the masses want gun control?
Or their own lying eyes watching AR's fly off the shelves? (and back ordered for 2 years per Stag Arms)
Was at a local sporting goods store today....ammo and guns disappearing - FAST!
Does anyone believe politicians?
This shouldn't mean squat in a Constitutional Republic.
We should be governed by laws and not by the whipped up emotions of the low-information public.
Of course, that won't stop the left from citing their own crafted polls.
Was DHS buying up all those bullets last year for a reason?
35% women - and overheard a woman saying to her husband (who looked maybe 60) - "you never buy anything for yourself - go ahead" -
Sportsman Guide has ammo. May order more and have it delivered to my brother in law until I can pick it up.
Ammo can be found at this website.

Cheaper Than Dirt jumped their price for 1000 rounds of 5.56 to $999.00. I’m wondering, once this stuff dies down, if that number will come down. I refuse to buy at the top of the bubble!
The last case of .223 I bought (in 1998) was $80. Now it’s close to a dollar a round. Ridiculous. I hope you’re right and the prices ease soon.
“if that number will come down. I refuse to buy at the top of the bubble!”
Doubt it. Tomorrow Obama will announce illegal Executive Orders to outlaw it all and the revolution might just be on. I think time is up.
Most people that support gun control are only nominally in favor of gun control. Yes, there are a few gun control fascists, but the group is small. The good news is that the 2A supporters are passionate and large; they outnumber the totalitarian control freaks.
Perhaps sheer passion will inspire the wishy washy low information voters to come to our side.
Rush now ponders on how to make the low information voters come to our side. More information does not work, logical persuasion does not work. The only way to motivate these people to come over to our side is passion.
Happened to be in Walmart when fed ex delivered 2 Windham AR15s. Clerk told me the store had received a total of 5 ARs since Sandy Hook. I immediately bought both. While filling out paper work 4 people inquired about the availability of ARs. Appear to be solid rifles but I don’t how they fire. No .223 ammo anywhere, NONE!! The city of Cincinnati is out of .223. Best I can find online is upwards of a buck a round. Not only .223 but also 7.62. Incredibly even all .22 is gone.
I kept reading how the masses were actually against Obamacare. Election proved otherwise. Not so sure about “the masses” on this one either.
OK, THIS poll had about 85,000 responses.

.
I don’t believe the recent election. We need an audit of the voters.
I’ve checked the laws. The Firearms Owners Protection Act allows me to transport ammo across state lines as long as it’s in my trunk. Thanks for the links.
Sure; glad to help. Are you anywhere near PA?
