“Thank you for making the case about why environmental regulations are needed . . . because most companies won’t do it on their own.”

Only ignorant ones. During my entire working career, every company I worked for did their best to recover as much of their “pollution” as possible as those were valuable chemicals, metals, minerals, solvents and it would have been stupid and cost ineffective to let them go to waste. But don’t let that ruin your religion of all companies are bad.

The EPA did overreact and did forced companies to send manufacturing offshore.

The last place I worked, was harassed by the EPA/DEC (NY) because our outfall water contained less copper than the incoming water supply from the town. They being government nazis could not comprehend that we were so efficient so we must have been cheating. They forced test after test until finally they insisted on a firm from Canada to do the testing and finally gave up.

The same JBTs also ASKED us to buy fuel oil from a company they suspected of selling contaminated fuel oil. ONLY because of their request did we buy a shipment of fuel oil and 6 months after they tested the oil and NEVER got back to us we had to start burning it. Well all of a sudden they found a way to get even for the Copper problem (above) and fined us for burning contaminated oil that they asked us to buy.

There is a reason the EPA is buying ammo because they will be one of the first scum to be targeted when this all collapses.

I don’t think the problem is with the cars. It’s all the coal belching power plants.

Yup. Look for high levels of methylmercury to start turning up in all the food sources...especially fish.

They should have just cloaked the pollution in “Richard Windsor’s” EPA cloaking device.

It wasn't that long ago that Tokyo traffic cops took "oxygen" breaks every two hours to clear their lungs. The smog in downtown Tokyo was not quite as bad as the Chinese version but not that far off the pace. I think their problem was caused by motor vehicles not industry.

China's Smog Emergency Can Be Seen From Space

Twenty five Percent of the smog present in the Los Angeles area today, originates in China.

Point:

Free America

Centrally planned China

Soon the sky in the USSA will look like the USSR.

Socialized Russia

Carbon Monoxide Emissions

The point is that minding the Ecology is a rich mans game. If the government will let people be free, ie. not try to control everything, free countries clean up their own pollution. But in all the places where there are despotic centrally planned governments trying to regulate everything, pollution spirals out of control. AS YOU CAN CLEARLY SEE with your own eyes.

But socialism stresses the ears to hear orders and mouths to repeat them. Eyes are useless, after all are you going to believe what you are told, or listen to your lying eyes.

I thought exactly the same thing.

Keep things like this in mind when nations like China, India, and Brazil attack the United States and Europe for being hypocrites, trying to deny developing nations the opportunity to improve themselves by doing exactly the same things that America and Western Europe did a century or a century and a half ago.

They have a point.
