The blogosphere has exploded with outrage in response to news that Walmart is suspending ammunition sales in anticipation of the Obama administrations gun-control recommendations to Congress but the retail giant tells WND the reports arent true.
That information is inaccurate, said Ashley Hardie, a spokeswoman located at Walmarts corporate headquarters in Bentonville, Ark.
WND then asked whether the retail chain is cutting back on orders of ammunition.
No, Hardie said. Were continuing to serve our customers as we have in the past.
She said Walmarts ammunition sales policy has not changed, even amid talk of gun-control legislation in Washington, D.C.
The uproar began when the InvestmentWatch blog posted a story headlined, Breaking & confirmed: Walmart is not going to order any more ammo.
CNS News cited the report, and talk-radio host Rush Limbaugh mentioned it during his Monday show.
According to the InvestmentWatch report, a man claimed to have visited his local Walmart and noticed the store was out of almost every kind of ammo.

IMHO, this needs to be in Breaking
same exact thing happened to me today “on hold” they didnt say they wouldnt get more but had no idea when...
I think Aim Surplus had them like 6 years ago.
Why would anyone want to buy “made in China” ammo. If their quality control is like some of the other products we have heard about in recent years, I sure would not want to bet my life and safety on it.
Walmarts (sic) has become a politically correct company and is perfectly happy to miss out on minor profit opportunities to appease their liberal overlords. Zoning decisions and building permits depend on government approval and are infinitely more important to the company than a few pallets of ammo. Why don't you stop it at a WalMart yourself and find out when you can expect the next shipment of 22LR?
The story at multiple Denver area Walmarts is:
The Walmart warehouse is out of ammo and nobody knows when they’ll get more.
The individual stores have not received any formal word on any new Walmart policy on carrying ammo.
Magpul PMAG is said to have backorders for 30 round mag’s, in excess of 1 Million units.
Walmart will do anything not to be in the cross hairs ...
walmart still has problems. i have to stop at walmarts in the central valley if i want to buy ammo from them, since the ones i frequent in the SF bay area do not sell ammo. why is that?
i can think of several possible reasons: there are too many regulatory hoops to jump. they asked and our county/city governments won’t approve it. they are afraid to anger politicians in our area.
still the fact and the question remains: why doesn’t walmart sell in our area?
80% of Walmart’s goods are made in China.
Mmmmm...Jowly
>”That makes me hungry”<
After reading the Label, I assume it makes you HUNGARY...
Not all Walmart stores sell guns/ammo. You’re more likely to find gun/ammo Walmarts in red states. One of the big panics after the loss of Walmart #54 in Joplin, Mo in 2011 after the F5 tornado flattened a large section of the business area, was the realization that that particular Walmart was a gun/ammo Walmart and the entire inventory was carried away by the tornado cloud and deposited who knows where...

The Walmart story was a fabrication to gin up 2A defenders.
Walmart is in the same predicament as every other retail supplier.
They can’t supply what can’t be got. Hell, I go to my local Walmart and ain’t nothing on the shelves.
This happened in 2008 and after about a year I could suddenly find ammo after two years gun prices started to rationalize, as did supply.
Well, it was on the Internet and it can’t be wrong if it’s on the Internet...
yes. i said that our local stores here don’t sell ammo. i did ask employees at both kinds of walmart and they responded that they didn’t know why. so i’m still wondering why?
Both “can’t supply” and “on hold”.
Two first person accounts on this very thread.
