Why would anyone de-fund a program that is already going broke?
Nevermind the fact that it also cut the amount you contributed which is a benchmark as to how much one would get once going on SS. Stupid fools screwed themselves on both ends.

Exactly! It was initiated so that the 50% who pay no federal income tax (those who really DO NOT pay their fair share) could see a tax cut. Can’t cut income taxes to them so they cut something else that will appear like they get a tax cut.
