I found it odd that the pers were said to have guns but the was a victim stabbed maybe it was a bayonet.

Exactly. The Channel 5 News, here in LA, kept repeating ‘they had a gun!!’ then quickly mentioned one of the hostages had been stabbed... ‘but they had a gun!’
