There are 31 public schools in my county of about 70,000 residents, serving 11,594 students. In addition, there are 7 private schools.

According to the National Center for Education Statistics, there were 98,817 public schools in the 50 states during the 2009-2010 school year. This doesn’t count private schools and I don’t know if it counts preschools.

It would take an army to place a single guard at each school. It is an impossible dream.

I believe that if school security is the goal, the better bet would be to harden each school and cause the schools to provide their own security..... of course, local taxes will be over the top.

Resolving local school problems should be the responsibility of the local schools and the community, not the federal government.

AND another thing. Are the kids also going to be secure on the way to and from the schools?

Some 480,000 school buses carry 25 million children — more than half of America’s schoolchildren — each day, making the school bus industry the largest form of mass transit in the United States. They do this twice a day.

Just how many volunteers does the federal government think it can enlist, train and keep trained. Simple background checks alone would take an army to preform and cost a fortune..

There are over 30 million privately own guns within the U.S. LOL... yet we have a government that says they can’t roundup 12 million illegal aliens-—

The politicians, all fools, are looking for the answers in all of the wrong places. If it were not for the politics-incompetent and corrupt cowards, and the gun grabbing libs, security problems could have a chance of being resolved.

The government is simply taking the advantage of the moment in an attempt to unarm America. They are crazy to think that a very large number of us will give up our of defense tools and our 230+ years of constitutional rights, just to satisfy Obama and the libs wet dream.
