The completed Keystone XL by Transcanada would add 510,000 BPD.

Trans Canada's Keystone XL Pipeline is designed to transport crude oil from Alberta, not North Dakota, to the Gulf Coast.

In addition, Bakken formation production may peak at 1 million BPD then decline steadily after that. The huge investment in pipelines may prove unnecessary, especially since a large portion of that production will go to northeastern US refineries.

The Keystone XL includes loading points for the Bakken area.

It certainly would move a lot of Alberta oil/bitumen, but it plans to move oil out of ND as well.

There are several other pipelines planned as well, not to mention the majority of the Bakken Crude moves out on existing pipelines already.
