This was required reading in some of our sixth or seventh grade classes. I never read it, but I got hooked on Kenneth Roberts novels. They are outstanding.

I was assigned to read it in school. I loved it and still remember some of it many decades later. I should track down a copy!
Somehow I doubt kids in Massachusetts today are being assigned to read Johnny Tremain. More likely they are being given Commie Dreams from My Deadbeat Dad or some such trash.

This was required reading in some of our sixth or seventh grade classes. It was when I was in school so many years ago. I still cringe when I think of Johnny burning his hand on that hot silver.
