All Alinsky. All the time.
OMG! CR4P I do not have enough duct tape for this!! My brains are about to pop through my eyes again!!!!!!
In Iraq & later in Afghanistan they brought M-14 rifles out of storage & issued same to the infantry who greatly relished the greater power & range of the 7.62 NATO round (.308 Winchester).
I’m closing on an M1A later this week. Looking forward. Last qualified on the M-14 in 1969. Superb rifle.
General McChrystal has spent his life in the Military.
He has lived on bases where there is little burglary, rape, assaults and violent activity.
The people he comes in contact with obey his orders and respect him. They are trained to do that.
He dosn’t live the reality of an America with rapes assaults robberies, His Military home was protected by soldiers, Ours are protected by Police that arrive 20 minutes after we call them, and too late to be much help or even take a report half the time.
The Generals expertise does not include the crimes we have to protect ourselves from and he should stick to what he knows.
The whole point of the 2nd is to enable the people and the states to protect themselves from the tyranny of the federal government. You need “military-style guns” to do this.
By the way General McChrystal, The streets of Chicago Detroit, Philadelphia ,and parts of Washington DC are every bit as dangerous as Afghanistan.
Michael Yon who was reported from Iraq and Afstan can fill us all in on McChrystal.
Retired Gen. Stanley McChrystal says military-style guns didn`t belong on the streets of Lexington and Concord in 1775.
Nooooooooooow, it makes some sense. Thanks, ‘frog.
When I was in you were not allowed to keep firearms in base housing. You had to keep them in the base armory. If you wanted to use one you had to sign it out.
Things might have changed now.
McChrystal is a liberal. Always has been. His views on the 2nd Amendment are the same as most liberal generals, including the worthless Wesley Clark and Colin Bowel.
He is a useful idiot like most generals nowadays.
Except for a few Class III folks, the only thing Americans have are semi-autos.
It means the military officer would be glad to fire on citizens if so ordered by Obama.
“The whole point of the 2nd is to enable the people and the states to protect themselves from the tyranny of the federal government.”
Since you brought it up, I’ve been meaning to write an article on this. Actually, your point was the secondary concern of the founders. The PRIMARY concern was to have a well armed population so that the federal gov could call them up (militia) to defend the new nation against a foreign invasion. Primarily, they were concerned about the British. Rightly so, as it turned out, as the British invaded in the war of 1812 and sacked Washington DC, even burning the White House to the ground. Citizen soldiers were called up to repel the Brits again.
The founders were also keenly aware that the people may have to cast aside a tyrannical domestic government one day too. But that was clearly a secondary concern.
Historically this has come into play as recently as WW2. The Japanese wouldn’t invade us because they knew there would be a rifle behind every bush.
Tried to watch him on Hannity last night...since there was no football on TV...and at about his second evasive, weasel answer to a question and answering that he did vote for obozo, I turned it off...had to take a shower.
What a jerk!! McChristal that is.
“I wonder what Cabinet post hes gunning (sorry) for?”
Lying is second nature for the modern military commander. After a certain point it becomes Semper Politic and we wonder if a dictatorship is possible in this country.
