The article misses the point - at least for me.
Establishment republicans jettisoned their principles to run what was essentially a democrat pretending to be a republican. The republican’s betrayal of conservatism is the cause of my dispair.
I registered out of the party in the 90’s because the republicans lied then, but I always had hope that conservatism would prevail. This election crushed all hopes of that. I didn’t vote for their pretender and will never do so. I’m 100% done with lying republicans.

I don’t even consider them at this point. They are merely the Menshevik also-rans to the Bolshevik victors.
Except as a continuing drain for conservative and libertarian money, votes, and enthusiasm, the Geriatric Old Plotters are irrelevant.
We need a second party.
