Civil war? Actual violence? Probably not. However there are now civil divisions within America that are wide and probably permanent. The reasonable social consensus that once drove America to its pinnacle no longer exists. Neither side shares values, likes or socializes with the other,and even tend to live in different areas. A de facto separation has already occurred. It is nearly impossible to forge unified domestic or foreign policy.
Agreed. All the civil wars I can think of were started by the equivalent of progressives, not conservatives. Take the US Civil war; Democrats. Take the Spanish Civil War, Franco, Fascist. Conservatives to not start civil wars. Nor is there anybody who would finance it as Conservative causes don’t attract money so much as Fascist causes do. We will get incrementally stepped on until, 30 years from now, Conservatism will be illegal.
There is no reason for the south and the mid and south west to remain tied to the two political factions in Washington DC who take turns controlling the spoils they extort from the productive class at gunpoint, spoils which they waste and spend like monopoly money, while ignoring the will of the people outside of the Beltway who pay taxes.
If the average American taxpayer had any idea of the waste and fraud the apparatchiks in Washington from both parties are involved in, all hell would break loose.
Time is running out for the Washingtonians, the jig will soon be up.
