At a ceremony commemorating the late U.S. President Richard M. Nixons 100th birthday, politicians, a military official and Nixons eldest daughter on Sunday remembered him as an underappreciated president and a foreign policy genius.
Nixon, the Cold War-era Republican stalwart who opened U.S. relations with communist China, was the only American president to resign from office, leaving the White House in disgrace over the Watergate scandal.
He looked at (the world) as a world with 200 countries and 200 leaders, and he studied every one of those leaders, and he knew most of them, said Bruce Herschensohn, a friend and speech writer for Nixon who delivered the keynote address. Its a talent that I have never seen equaled.
The 37th president died in 1994 at age 81.

If only Nixon had destroyed all of the tapes.
Obama has had several worse moments that Watergate.
Benghazzi
Fast & Furious
Killing an American with a Drone.
Turning our Military into a bath house.
Yet it shows the power of a Communist Media.
When was the last time you heard them mention the impeachment and disbarment of Bill Clinton?
At the time, I regarded “Watergate” has a TRUMPED-UP scandal, fueled by a corrupted media that hated, loathed, and despised Nixon. A fourth rate bit of political chicanery, incessantly drummed at by the MSM brought down a President and set this country back.
Very sadly, I am now more convinced that ever that I was right then. The “scandals” of the Democratic regimes, ignored and buried by the MSM make Watergate appear to be a high school prank. White Water, FBI file, cattle futures, Vince Foster, Hurricane Sandy, Benghazi, and how many more are obvious exhibits of the depths to which the modern media has sunk.
Today, the question first asked by the media is, “How much to WE like and back (whoever) is involved in *****?”
The answer governs the coverage.
I’ve been saying for a few years, that when you think about it logically, Nixon wasn’t bad and was actually pretty good. He was an honorable man who sacrificed himself when: 1st) When he won the popular vote against JFK but lost in the electoral college, H bowed to the law. 2nd) When his team did an illegal act, he to responsibility and resigned. I don’t think a single POTUS since him would have done either of those.
Amen. Every single malady effecting this country can be traced to and laid at the feet of the corrupt dominant media.
Too early in the morning: H=he, to=took
Yup, sure was. Here are some of his accomplishments;
EPA
OSHA
Affirmative Action
Wage and Price controls.......although where I lived at the time it was only wage control.
and he opened up China...
well, we don’t have Dick Nixon to kick around anymore...
Nixon didn’t do anything the democrats weren’t already doing and covering up. Watergate wasn’t worth the pain and embarrassment it caused the country. The MSM and Uncle Ho’s useful idiots hated him.

- A Life
By far the best discussion of Nixon I have seen.
Nixon had his warts, but - compared to what? The Democrats havent nominated anyone better than Nixon since . . . I would argue, at least since Truman. And Truman had his own failings - like defending Alger Hiss. And trying to take over the steel industry.
