I hadn’t had the flu in years. Had a flu shot in early Nov. Got the flu New Year’s Day and was in bed for 3 days. Feeling much better now. I went to a CVS Minute Clinic (which had a 2 hr. wait) and received two prescriptions. I was told Tamiflu would cost about $200 (which I can’t afford), so got something else. I work in a nursing home and worry about the residents. Strange the flu shot this year doesn’t seem to cover the most prevalent strain.

Did your 'flu' present symptons of fever over 101?....shivering chills?....aches?.....coughing?...tiredness.....for about 3 days?.....

That's exactly what my symptoms were.....and when I went to the doctor this past Thursday he said it was not the flu!

It felt like the flu.....The last time I had the flu was in 1978.

My daughter & her husband both took the flu shot.....and had this same virus...

..I didn't take the flu shot.....and had this flu like virus.

My doctor says our county has had few cases of the flu..........

..but this non flu virus has been around for 5 months!

No, it is considered a good match this year for both extant A and B strains. The interim vaccine effectiveness (VE) estimates are good. C strain generally gives only a very mild episode. Glad you’re feeling better anyhow.
