It’s interesting to me in that I was just reading a novel that had a character saying something that really resonates with me about what I am seeing in the news/blogs and commentaries today about gun-control.
It is: “Why is it that people like you always think you’re more ruthless than people like me?”
The people that want to control every aspect of our lives think that they have either cowed everyone of their opponents or that we will meekly walk into the concentration/extermination camps because fighting back is so un-civilized. It isn’t so, but their life experiences lead then to believe that. What they should be deathly afraid of is when the “Civilized” population sets aside that facade and unleashes the wolverine that has been leashed.
But then, it will be too late.... for them that is. Once that genie is out of the bottle it will be nigh impossible to cram it back inside. But as usual they will push and grasp for their goal of total control because their hearts’ desire is just in reach.
The cost will be horrendous I fear, and all because of that greedy desire.
Therein lies the issue ... 'civilized' (i.e. conservatives) turn the other cheek, then turn it the other way, then turn it back again. Boehner "negotiating" with Obama is a great example. Wimpy legislators letting Leftists have an inch on gun control and then watching them take the proverbial mile is another. This cr@p with the newspaper publishing info on legal gunowners, even if public info, should be slapped down and hard. Protests in front of gunowner homes? Hell no ... it should be the other way around. Two quotes ... and yes, it's time for some ball ripping and if that doesn't work, the Leftists will continue to push until bullets will likely be next:
"Son, you don't poke a wolverine with a sharp stick unless you want your balls ripped off." -- Grandpa Vanderboegh.
"You see, truth always resides where brave men have ammunition. I pick truth." (John Ransom)
What they should be deathly afraid of is when the Civilized population sets aside that facade and unleashes the wolverine that has been leashed.
I saw an interesting phrase today, in a source I don't normally read: "Right now the resistance is a saturated solution, waiting to crystallize around an incident."

We've had guns for hundreds of years - and schools for thousands... the "new' thing on the scene is liberal control drugs. From the link:
But where, Id like to ask my colleagues in the media, is the reporting about the psychiatric medications the perpetrator who had been under treatment for mental-health problems may have been taking? After all, Mark and Louise Tambascio, family friends of the shooter and his mother, were interviewed on CBS 60 Minutes, during which Louise Tambascio told correspondent Scott Pelley: I know he was on medication and everything, but she homeschooled him at home cause he couldnt deal with the school classes sometimes, so she just homeschooled Adam at home. And that was her life. And here, Tambascio tells ABC News, I knew he was on medication, but thats all I know.
