Ted Cruz Spends First Day in the Senate Making News and Making Waves

Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, has barely taken his oath of office as a United States Senator and he is already making news. He has a Washington Post op-ed in which he reiterates his "opportunity conservatism" approach to governance.

The first bill he will file will be to repeal Obamacare. This and a combative stance on guns and fiscal policy have gotten the notice of the media.

LOL,,,if the Obamedia starts picking on him, Cruz is eminently qualified to defend himself. I’ll never forget Chris Wallace’s stunned expression when Cruz began to recite the outline of the US Constitution which he had memorized when he was a teenager. Priceless.

The Texas GOPe and Yeller Dog dems have been trying to run Ted off from the start. So far its only empowered him.

Perry is the consummmate opportunist and will revert back to his dem roots to remain governer. It wouldn’t be a hard campaign change for him either, considering his history of engaging in corporate welfare, nanny statism, stomping on private poperty rights and cozy relationship with illegals. He has lost his trust with the Tea Party with his endorsement and push for Dewhurst against Cruz, but the growing number of Kalifornia refugees to Texas will most probably assure his re-election.

Perry is well liked here. He will be Governor as long as he wants and the law allows.

Deworst and his GOPe bunch need to go, but the dems have zero Texas wants after poopin in the nest for a 100 years..

I’ve said that Rubio is not eligible since his name came up for VP. Many here have ignored or denied that Rubio was an anchor baby and, thus, ineligible.

If BO is ineligible because his father wasn’t a citizen, then what about Rubio? I say, they are both ineligible.

I’m not voting for him because he is not conservative....he fooled a bunch of us when he ran for the Senate. If a Conservative is not on the ticket, I’m not voting. Hear that GOP?

He may *want* to file that bill, but Harry Reid will not permit it to be heard by any committee, much less voted on.

NEWSFLASH: Ted Cruz is white. There were many white, and even blonde blue-eyed people in Cuba. There still are some. Cuba was a colony of Spain. Many Spaniards are white, especially in Asturias. They are descended from the Visigoths. Many Asturians went to Cuba. Hence there were white people there.

Why are you writing this to me? I just wrote to the other person who said that Cruz was *not white*. You should be writing to him.

Cruz is the most articulate politician I have ever hear. Hear his father at a Tea Party meeting, and he is equally so, although he has this Cuban accent, like Desi. Cruz is ferocious in debate in a lawyerly way. He is a comer, but since he was born in Canada, not in that direction.

Yep. Mostly CA in the Peoples’ Republic of Austin, anyway. They still have to mind their manners when they enter the real Texas.
