Contact your members of Congress and urge them to oppose any "assault weapon" or magazine ban
Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.)--author of the federal "assault weapon" and "large" ammunition magazine ban of 1994-2004--has said for weeks that she will soon introduce an even more restrictive bill. Leaders in the U.S. Senate have stated that January 22 will be the first day on which new Senate legislation can be proposed, so that is the most likely date for the new, sweeping legislation to be introduced.
On Dec. 17th, Feinstein said, "I have been working with my staff for over a year on this legislation" and "It will be carefully focused." Indicating the depth of her research on the issue, she said on Dec. 21st that she had personally looked at pictures of guns in 1993, and again in 2012.
According to a Dec. 27th posting on Sen. Feinstein's website and a draft of the bill obtained by NRA-ILA, the new ban would, among other things, adopt new definitions of "assault weapon" that would affect a much larger variety of firearms, require current owners of such firearms to register them with the federal government under the National Firearms Act, and require forfeiture of the firearms upon the deaths of their current owners. Some of the changes in Feinstein's new bill are as follows:

People need to read this post I found on another forum and think a little about the possibilities:

I remember a time, back in 1986 (ah, what innocent times they were) when lulled into happy gun buying days that we were awash in “assault” weapons. So many types and models to pick from, it was simply grand! And one could buy a parts kit, do your paperwork and POOF, you had a real select-fire toy with the blessing of Uncle Sam.
But then a dark cloud came: the Firearms Owners Protection Act (FOPA). {Hey, on PAFOA talking about FOPA, life is funny} Manufacturers and parts kit sellers were scared, but most of us were unaware (internet, where?). The law was passed, a deadline for paperwork set, and by the time we heard of it, it was too late. Those who knew, and had plenty of stock, packed it in deep and didn’t talk. They knew what they had, knew it was great: knew the future prices they would reap. 30 days was all we had, to get papers together or be very sad.
Shortly after the law had passed, there came a knocking and it was steadfast. “Where’s the parts kits? Where’s the tubes? We know you were buying STENS, we’re not rubes!” The agents were cranky and I was getting hot. “How did you find me & what’s this about?” I blurted out, surprised and startled to be found out. “We have a list, your names on it. We went to all the places who’ve sold the parts, got a court order and finding you people out. So hand over the parts, the guns and the tubes, or your coming with us with some ‘splain to do.”
Flustered and miffed at all of this shi*, I told them to wait and listen to this: “What do you take me as a fool? I wear a uniform just like you, but mine is green and yours is blue. You changed the laws and I wasn’t even here, I was in Germany drinking beer! Sure, I bought some junky old gun parts, paid real cheap to some old farts. But have them no more, gone they are, sold and foregotten to some other soldier in a German bar.” And so thursting a copy of my Orders in his paw, I bid the Agents to go back to their car. Went away they did, but it bothers me still, to this day it does. It was the beast I saw, a government to fear. I know now that they will hunt us down, even if it takes them years.
The moral of the story is plainly clear: “Uncle” isn’t your relative and he isn’t dear. He’s Big Brother and a bad mother and something to fear. Times have changed since ‘86: “Uncle” is bolder, colder and now carries the big stick of Homeland Security to hit you with. I was serving this country, and was easily found: I did nothing wrong but they still hunted me down. Be cautious and aware, for this is a new age: everything you bought, they already know about. Should the laws change, they’ll be at your door, wanting to know if you have your stuff anymore.
“What will we do, what will we do?” To that question I have no clue. The answer is not up to me.....it’s up to YOU...

I’ve asked the AMs to remove my identical post, from 7:37:09 AM, in Breaking News and consolidate everything here. Great minds...
This is political posturing, the bill is dead before introduction.
Ironic that this will be introduced on the same day that the government authorized the murder of 52 million (and counting) babies.
Now they want to criminalize us. Or what, kill us too?
The NRA has sent out a membership drive letter to me and I immediately shredded it.
The Gun Owners of America Organization is out there as an alternative.
The NRA is affiliated and associated with the politcal machine in Washington.
This very threatening legislation should be totally repudiated by the Republicans, but in the spirit of the recent “imperfect deal” they will likely cave in on some of Feinstein’s ideas to give us another “imperfect deal.”
Will the NRA be part of that ‘imperfect deal’ that is likely to come???????
Personally, I will not cower or cave. I will not bury what I have. When they come to my door, I will tell them to come back with a warrant. When they come with the warrant, I’ll refuse to open the safe and they’ll have to cut out the foundation of my home to take it away.
There’s a lot of rhetoric and hyperbole in all of this. Come what may, I’ll say it again: My soul is prepared. I will fight for my freedom, even if it means a swift death at the hands of Obama’s storm troopers. I will not live on my knees.
This is what I sent Senator Coats and Congressman Young of IN:
I changed the last paragraph - a few sentences to match who I was writing to - but nonetheless - it is what I sent them. Young replied back - but has not taken a stand.

I posted it here as well - and about 300 people downloaded from my website:

I think they want to get this in before the emotion wears out and the logic comes into play...lovely!

pretty good read...
I can safely say that Roger Wicker, Thad Cochran and Stephen Palazzo of Mississippi will NEVER vote for this Nazi/communist/islamic plan to disarm Americans. Hey feinswine... you will NEVER get them... you may however be personally held responsible for another Civil War and everything that those charges entail.

Join both the NRA and the GOA. I reupped both this past week.
With the cost so low, why not simply join both, as there is strength in numbers.
And you can have your opinions, but during this time of Treason STFU. I place anyone who is picking fights with the good guys in the same category as the enemy at this point. And I am not the only one.
In the current environment and with a cowering GOP, I wouldn't put anything from the left as automatically DOA. Also, Obama is quite capable of adopting ideas from this legislation and implementing many of them by executive action and enforced by DHS and ATF. His corrupt DOJ will also lead the attack.
More proof of the stupidity of the 17th amendment.
The Senate is now almost exclusively the source of all hyper-overreactive legislation. It is what the House was supposed to be, on steroids.
No branch of government now performs the intended function of the original Senate, as crafted under the Constitution.
The Senate was SUPPOSED to be a conservative anchor to a populist, and likely overreactive House. Now look at it. The crazy progressives control the Senate, and it is left to the House to be more conservative.
If they now attack the very Constitution they have sworn me to uphold, have they not made their own beds? Am I not bound to ensure they sleep in those beds?
Whatever any of you do... resist tyranny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GOD bless us all.

I will stand with you my brother... we are MILLIONS!

In a time of lawlessness, the most useless thing next to a lawyer is a politician.
The socialist goons ruined the Constitution with the 17th and the 16th(which allowed the income tax). The income tax is where the government got most of its power (money and ability to take our property our income , the creation of the IRS). We'd be a totally different country , much freer , no income tax, much more prosperous without those 2 amendments.
I am sorry you are angry.
But the paradigm has changed.
We are in an escalating fiscal decline that has been caused by business as usual politics.
Over the years both the NRA and the National Right To Life Committee, a group I used to support big time, have been lobbying in Washington on the right side of their respective issues creating relationships with the pork barrel politicians who have helped us get to where we are today 16 TRILLION DOLLARS IN DEBT AND COUNTING....
Case in point, the late Democrat Congressman Jack Murtha, who went so far as to build an airport with taxpayer money and national debt in Johnstown, Pennsylvania among other pork barrel goodies.
He ran for re-election year after year, winning with NRA and NRL support.
THE FINANCIAL ISSUE IS AT THE TOP OF THE HEAP RIGHT NOW....
The Second Amendment is important, I want no part of the Feinstein bill, but I can’t even guarantee that I would support someone who votes against it because aside from 16 of the Republicans down there the other day, everyone else thinks Boehner the higher tax deal maker, is a good leader.
Anyone who gets drawn into the NRA’s web will be emotionalized to write congressman, then support them because they opposed the Feinstein bill.
I think 90 plus percent of them need to be run out of there right now.
Its a new world out there right now and I for one am not going to be emotionalized on an issue like the Second Amendment to end up voting to re-elect the business as usual politicians who raise taxes and probably debt in a few months.
Conservatives and Patriots like me have woken up to the fact that our pants have been pulled down and we have been .....ed over and over again by emotional political issues on the side while more liberalism, bigger government, higher taxes and crushing debt are imposed on us by business as usual Republican and Democrat pols.
The NRA, Republicans and real conservatives need to start using the same techniques as the Rats do. The most common one is personally attacking a person's intelligence. Let's begin with Feinstein's research technique of personally looking at pictures of guns because she is so F'ing stupid that she can't read. In particular, she can't read our constitution.
