Don't know if it's all of it, but it sure is some of it.
Just look at what tidal forces do to the moons of Jupiter, lesser effect here, but there is an effect.
What does that effect have way down below where things are more fluid and what effect does that have above where things are more solid, but not always *rock* solid?
