What's the point of having fuel efficient car if you have to pay per mile? Might as well stick with the Hummer then.
What's next, paying the utility the going tax rate for juice from your solar panels or the water from your own well?
They would do that. Anything that moves, tax it.

I live in Washington state. There is presently an effort to install meters on our privately owned water wells.... and charge me for my own water.

I paid to put the well in. I have lived at this property for 30 years and now these communists want to charge me for my own damn water.

Anything that moves, tax it. And many things that don't move too. For instance, in the 20 years I've lived in my house, it hasn't moved an inch and though it has been paid for for about 10 years, I still don't "own" own it.
