Thus we see again how to be praised by the media. Worship at the altar of Obama and/or hate John Boehner for not passing a pork-laden bill on your timetable.

Many here on FR fit at least half that description.

Chris Christie is the 2013 version of John McInsane. The press will crucify him when it is convenient.

Did any “journalist” ask Christie why Boehner is to blame if Obama was doing such a kick ass job saving New Jersey?

I’m sick of the pile on. Did Christie read the bill? Did he see the additional port? Or did he shoot his mouth off in a posturing for 2016 run? Whatever, the impact is just like you said...picked up on every form of lame media. And they would turn on him in a heartbeat, its WHAT THEY DO.

I used to like Christie until he became John McCain Jr. It’s easy to get love from the MSM as a RINO if you criticize the GOP.

Although I don’t believe McCain would have kissed up to Obama as much as Christie did after Sandy. That event took RINO to a new level.

Where Boner, McConnell, the repubs in general fail, fail miserably is PR.

For the life of me, I don’t understand why they can’t open their mouths and explain why they delay a bill, oppose a bill, etc.
Hold a News conference. If the MSM won’t cover it, occasionally buy 30 min. on TV.

It’s amazing to me watching the treatment of Katrina v. Sandy.
Bush sent thousands of trailers down, GAVE people credit cards. Put some up in cruise ships. And he was criticized at every turn for not helping the people.
Zer0 plays golf, goes on vacation, gives congress a raise by Executive Order(can he do that?), does nothing for the people in 2 months and who’s to blame? The repubs and Boehner.
Even that fat a$$ Repub (/s) Christie blames him.
A Bill that has more than 50% pork in it.

Fine... run that fat traitor as an evilcrat... he is one so let him be one. He certainly has no future in any republican party that I will have anything to do with. I AM AN INDEPENDENT CONSERVATIVE. I long ago broke with the National republican party. I know... you that are defeatists... post to someone else. I stand with the 148 republicans in the House that voted against the fiscal disaster bill. We must fight them when they are wrong... but we must support them when they are right. Now if we get a Conservative third party with a real chance... the rules will change. Until then... we fight the war with the army that we have. Donald Rumsfeld taught us that.

The bill is getting delayed because it is full of non-Sandy-related pork. But instead of reporting on that, the propaganda wing of the Dem Party is spinning this as “Boehner is delaying the bill”.

Christie should be ashamed of himself. I understand he wants the money for his state, and NOW, but bills like this are a big part of the reason we are where we are as a nation financially.

Chris Christie has started to grow on me.

He's so fat, now he has to start growing on other people, like a tumor.

They media’s doing with Christie exactly what they did with McCain back in 2000 - build him up, actively promote him, as a credible alternative to Conservative candidates in the hope that he’ll end up acting as a poison pill to the GOP in the 2016 primaries.

Should Christie get the nomination, either straight out in 2016 or in 2020 after helping to destroy a more Conservative nominee in, the media will turn on him just like they did with McCain.

Christie looked to me like a juvenile brat on his public appearances over the storm response. Yes, his state was damaged; yes, people were hurting; and yes, the largess of the rest of the people of the US is helpful. That was no reason to bow over and kiss the ring of the President, who did nothing to actually help. That was no reason to launch into a tantrum over a three day delay in a bill to give a way $60 billion of borrowed money grease the palms of bureaucrats and cronies who live somewhat near the storm damage.

$60 billion is 5 percent of the US deficit. It is not a trivial sum. It is roughly $1000 for every man, woman, and child living in New York and New Jersey. It is probably ten times that for every man, woman , and child who experienced actual storm damage. Spending a few days to actually debate and examine the spending at a time nearly two months after the event, is hardly worthy of the venom and childish spew that was shown on television from Christie.

I'm still not sold that Christie will do right by working people, especially union folks.

"Folks" seems to be Democrat-ese for "thugs" - Obama uses it all the time.
