I can't stand Piers Morgan, either. Mark Steyn (who is Canadian), on the other hand, is probably his best guest-host, IMHO.

OK, let’s take a look at the results of “crisis averted” in DC.
Description 2012 2013
Revenue 2.1T 2.162T (After added revenue of income tax increase)
Spending 3.8T 3.914T (includes automatic baseline increase of 3% standard increase by feds)
Debt 16.4T (as of late last week)
Revenue increase 400K+ earners 0.062T (included in above revenue number
2.1-3.8=-1.7T deficit spending in 2012 Fiscal year
2.162-3.914=-1.752T deficit spending in 2013 Fiscal year
And our brain dead fellow citizens bark and clap like seals as the media tells us we are all saved! Don’t worry, we are going to have this same crisis in 2 months when the debt ceiling “crisis” needs to be averted. That is one of the characteristics of traveling the road to tyranny. The elite rulers continually create crisis’ to solve so the subjects believe that they could not survive without their rulers!
Now, let’s change those numbers into a family budget:
Description 2013 Fed Family Budget
Revenue/Income 2,162,000,000,000 $50,000 (National average is around 50K)
Spending 3,914,000,000,000 $90,518 (feds spending is 1.81x income)
Consumer Debt 16,400,000,000,000 $379,278 (fed debt is 7.586x revenue)
So, we must do something to straighten out our finances, I have an idea…we’ll add to our income by getting a second job to earn some money. Let’s see, what amount do I need to earn in order to solve the problem?
Revenue Increase 62,000,000,000 $1,476 (fed increase in rev is 0.62/2.1=0.029)
Now that we have that job making our extra money, we can go ahead and increase our spending by the 3% we were hoping to spend…..
Planned spending increase 114,000,000,000 $2,715
Problem solved…..
