The Daughters of the American Revolution, one of the nations oldest patriotic organizations, has erased any mention of Jesus Christ in their official book, removed prayers and poems that reference Christian imagery, and directed members to refrain from praying in the name of Christ, an outraged group of members alleged.
The dispute has been brewing for more than a year when DAR members learned that the newly revised Ritual and Missal books the primary guide for chaplains were altered. They noticed that the name of Jesus Christ had been omitted.
The DAR president general did not return calls seeking comment for this story.
The members said DAR leadership made the changes to be politically correct and to accommodate new members of other religious beliefs.
A state chaplain in the organization notified members of their concerns in a newsletter.
The newly updated Missal and Ritual was written to reflect the desire to be considerate of other belief systems, the statement read. The Chaplain General uses scripture from both the Old and New Testaments and prays in the name of God without reference Christ. Chapter and district chaplains need to follow the example set by the National Society.
The statement also reminded members to appreciate the differences in members religious beliefs and to adapt our rituals and prayers to respect these differences.
That directive has infuriated rank and file members of the DAR an organization that is deeply rooted in the Christian faith.

Almost. It sounds like that rumbly noise one gets right before a full boil starts.
Do I have time to make popcorn?
Is it supposed to be a ‘religious’ or ‘political’ association?
You can’t have it both ways, and expect to attract people from all walks of life to a ‘political’ organization, unless you just want to attract “Christians” only.
Just an observation.
They now can count one less member here.
The DAR, Daughters of the American Revolution, is NOT political.
And why they would want to attract heathen is a mystery to me.
It is supposed to be a patriotic association.
Without God and Jesus there would have been no pilgrims, which means there would have been no colonists, which means there would have been no Revolution to produce daughters.
PC is like a black hole - it bends the laws of gravity and logic until they disappear.
The marxists have deliberately sought out positions of power in organizations like the DAR.
It should be interesting to see how they deal with the genealogical research they use considering that so much of the birth and death records were kept by the churches.
I guess they’ll just have to make up history, include illegal aliens etc.
This is a great video showing the deep religious past of our nation and leaders. DAR should take note. For example, Thomas Jefferson ordered the Marine corps band to play for the church services held each Sunday in the capital building! Services were held there for almost 100 years.
This is only a clip there is a full DVD you can buy on the wallbuilders.com site.
I guess they also forgot about the “Great Awakening,” which provided the theological underpinnings of the American Revolution.
My fear is that God is going to tire of His being spat upon by us and slap us a good one up aside our collective heads. He may have already launched the blow. He did it to the Israelites several times over their history.

St. Luke 9.26
For he that shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him the Son of man shall be ashamed, when he shall come in his majesty and that of his Father and of the holy angels.
St. Luke 12.9

Doesn’t sound like “Government establishment of Religion”?
What they’re doing is fine, and whoever “told them”, needs to be “told”:
“We’ll continue as we have, and YOU have no authority to suggest otherwise!”
Why do groups cave so easily?
I heard they were changing their membership requirements. Glad I didn’t join.
The pace of communism is quickening. Are you prepared for the fight being thrust upon us?
Glad I never got around to joining. Since membership is based on ancestry, I don’t imagine there are too many women eligible that aren’t Christian.
If this organization is about the American Revolution, then God is a part of it, recognized or unrecognized.
Christians and Jews, with God’s help, birthed a nation. I don’t believe there were any Muslims, Aetheists, etc., sharing meager rations and leaving bloody footprints in the snow.
