two bills in the republik of illinois, hb815 and hb 1263, will seek to drive gun ranges out of business and ban all semi auto hand guns, rifles and shotguns including all pump action shotguns and rifles. all are subject to confiscation by the state police. they will avoid taking all chicago gang bangers and drug lords guns.

I’m still optimistic. Local discussions are suggesting this is preemptive strike on conceal carry, which is now inevitable here. If passed, the ban measures would become effective right around when the state has to pony up a plan for cc. So the thinking seems to be this: If they have to let us carry, they will only let us carry Barny Fife one-bullet pop guns. Or less. It will amount to a de facto denial of the right, which would mean it will probably eventually be defeated in court, if it passes the full assembly. But I doubt it will.
