That's assuming that our best wealth creators won't change their behavior when faced with higher rates of taxation. But if they do change their behavior which should be expected, then those changes will probably offset any revenue increases. Not that the Democrats care. Obama is already on record saying that the purpose of an increase in the capital gains tax rates has nothing at all to do with raising revenue, and everything to do with something called 'fairness'.

The bottom line here is that the CBO has already marked this bill as a debt raiser. The $620 billion tax increase is more than offset by new pork spending that was crammed into the bill. Republicans are idiots.
