The House of Representatives late Tuesday easily approved emergency bipartisan legislation sparing all but a sliver of Americas richest from sharp income tax hikes -- while setting up another fiscal cliff confrontation in a matter of weeks.
Lawmakers voted 257-167 to send the compromise to President Barack Obama to sign into law. Eighty-five Republicans and 172 Democrats backed the bill, which had sailed through the Senate by a lopsided 89-8 margin shortly after 2 a.m. Opposition comprised 151 Republicans and 16 Democrats.
Republican House Speaker John Boehner voted in favor of the deal, as did House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan, his party's failed vice presidential candidate. But Republican House Majority Leader Eric Cantor and Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy voted against it.

Agree 100%. Bloodless coup has officially taken place. All talk no action. Elections mean nothing now....all fraudulent. Lock and load America....our guns are next.
Up next: debt ceiling. Baraq will taunt them like a cat with a dying mouse...
57 yes repub, 89 no’s both parties own this
And 57 Rs have already voted aye the suicidal fools.
Seeing how worthless the GOP leadership has been, might as well fold now and not do the silly song and dance.
Going independent. Hope there is a new party or Boehner is overthrown in the next term. Otherwise, I am out. They can lose the House in 2014 for all I care. Let the Dems be responsible for our collapse (if it takes that long).
Phuk the GOP. And phuk DC. This country is over. My kids hane NO future.
155 no votes
I will be very surprised if more than 65 Rino Monkeys vote for this.
I am hoping a lot of Rino Monkeys vote for this, as it will provide more
opportunity to primary them.
I am guessing Bonehead will protect as many of his Rino Monkeys
as he can.
At this moment in the vote, 52 “Republicans” are voting for the Obamination and 72 are voting no. Obama has won a resounding victory and controles the House and “the Speaker”. Conservatives in government are officially a small and insignificant minority.
played for idiots by the media.
I’m tweeting them but too late
http://www.gop.gov/republicans/twitter
As it should be. This is precisely disgusting.
Earlier they folded on compelling social issues, while they lectured us on "how it is all about the economy and government spending," and now they've sold us out on those issues. They are worthless pretenders and we need new leadership who will support conservative principles and lead and not fold. Next up 2nd Amendment rights...
You knew they would didn’t you? The only question was when.
FNC claims Boehner voted Yea
I can’t wait to see the Rino Monkeys who voted for this.
all we have is secession but all are to scared to fight and unite just whine on message boards
Leave the party like Obama is Sabotaging America and me, Sporke.
Cut ‘em off at the knees and where they will suffer financially.
If boner stays the GOP is toast. Any repubican that votes for this will get primaried. Speaker Pelosi in 2014. Maybe someone will put a little EMP over DC.
Dr. Coburn basically said he viewed the vote as a tax cut because our taxes had went up as of today. I see where he is coming from because in reality my taxes did go up today...but I still don’t like it but I can live with it.
I went them to hold the line on the debt ceiling. I think we have leverage in that debate if played right. Also it is a good thing that these tax cuts are PERMANENT....this can’t be used anymore.
