GOP leaders prefer to vote in broad daylight, sources said, instead of in the middle of the night.
“There is no difference in voting at 2 a.m. than tomorrow at 4 p.m.,” one of the GOP sources said.
GOP sources admitted there is an added benefit to the Senate’s delay: taxes would already be up, so lawmakers could argue that they are voting for tax cuts, as opposed to tax increases.
Puh-leeze. Enough of the ‘optics’, we’ve seen enough already. I can’t believe someone would say that...must be RINO advisors...and we saw how well that turned out last election.
If you are taking your time to actualy read every word and CONSIDER the bill, that’s the message the people should be hearing, not some wordsmithing about we’re now voting for tax cuts. And while you’re at it, throw some spending cuts in there, vote on them and send it back.
Heard Krauthiemer(sp?) say the same thing this evening. Nearly tossed my supper. Just another reason why I find ALL politicians such loathsome bastards.

When the media owns the message and are in the tank for The Won, every little bit the Republicans can do to get their message through is helpful. I am amazed that we actually got to see and hear a member of Congress criticize the president's fiscal cliff "speech" yesterday.
