Why all the fuss about midnight if it didn’t even matter and the Senate could vote on January first?
Because 0bama knows how much of a stickler the GOP is about deadlines and attempted to force them into giving the Socialists everything they wanted without anything in return which is exactly what will happen AFTER they all turn into pumpkins anyway. It’s a foregone conclusion the GOP will cave. Caving is their business, and business is good!
It’s more exciting theater if there’s a ticking time bomb than if the hero can take his time showing up to the scene.
