Politicians and the majority of the public will never voluntarily cut any entitlements or spending. Since this deal is not going actually raise revenue and since we won’t have any significant economic growth increase that will raise revenue, our deficit is only going to increase at an alarming rate. Well, they bought a little more time to postpone the calamity: maybe about two weeks. They also managed to fool the market before it closed for the year.

The only real hope is to drastically cut spending but that’s never going to happen. Dysfunctional is too nice of a word to describe Washington. It’s more like corrupt, spineless, irresponsible and deceptive. Yep, that’s our government.
